Dr. Zachary Laksman is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. Zachary is the Director of the St. Paul’s Hospital Atrial Fibrillation Clinic and the Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic. Zachary specializes in the management of heart rhythm disorders including heart rhythm surgeries and devices. He is a Clinician Scientist with a specific focus on stem cell disease modeling and drug screening, cardiogenetics, and personalized medicine. His research is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health and Research, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Stem Cell Network, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, and the UBC Division of Cardiology. Zachary holds the Inaugural Dr. Charles Kerr distinguished Scholar in Cardiovascular Genetics and a Professional Investigator Award from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research.
