Before you complete your 2027 submission to Canada's Top 40 Under 40, we suggest that you first check the Selection Criteria information which includes Eligibility guidelines and Important dates.
The submission form consists of 5 parts, some of which will need some preparation. The submission process will be smoother if you have checked the list below and made sure you have all the relevant documents and infomation ready before you begin.
You can save the form and update it at a later stage, but all submissions must be made by January 8, 2027.
BEFORE you begin
Part A – Nominee
- This is about you (or your nominee), it asks for basic contact information.
- It asks you confirm that you are either a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- It asks for a Year of Birth. The nominee must be 39 or under as of December 31, 2027. An individual turning 40 in 2027 is not eligible.
- It asks for Education (Degrees, Diplomas or Designations) information (50-400 characters).
Part B – Organization
- This is about your Organization, you will need to choose a sector from the list that most closely covers your organization's activity.
Part C – Selection Criteria
- This material will be the primary focus of the Selection Committee’s Review.
- Please complete each of the 5 Selection Criteria showing how the Nominee meets them:
C1 – Biography & Career Progression
C2 – Leadership
C3 – Vision & Innovation
C4 – Community Involvement & Corporate Social Responsibility
C5 – Impact & Influence, KPIs - Please be concise and use point form.
- Provide no more than four concise, factual bullet points per criterion (100 to 1200 characters).
- Support your achievements with specific examples, figures and measurable results wherever possible.
- Additional guidance is available for each of the 5 criteria on the form.
Part D – Performance Indicators
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) help us understand your success.
- Business and academic/science roles differ, so we ask that you follow one of the two samples provided below in order to show three (3) KPIs for the last three (3) years.
- Please create a PDF / DOC / DOCx of this data in a single 4-column / 4-row table. You can download a template in Word format (DOCX) here.

Part E – Supporting Material
- You will need to prepare three documents for this part. Two letters will need to be sought from referees. Your CV will also be required.
E1 and E2 – Two (2) Letters of Reference
- Should be 1-2 pages in length, in DOC / DOCX / PDF format, no bigger than 1mb in size. They should be named as such:
nominee surname – nominee firstname – REF 1
nominee surname – nominee firstname – REF 2 - Suggestions for referees include a boss, mentor, board member, colleague, fellow leader, associate, etc.
- The referee writing the letter should refer to the selection criteria when addressing why the nominee should be considered.
E2 – CV
- Should be 1-2 pages in length, in DOC / DOCX / PDF format, no bigger than 1mb in size, named as such:
nominee surname – nominee firstname – CV
