Darcy Morris is the CEO and Co-Founder of Ewing Morris, an independent investment firm built on a simple premise: apply a private-equity mindset to public markets, and do so with integrity, patience, and intellectual independence.
Darcy began his career as a public-markets investor but has always operated like an owner, leaning into governance, capital allocation, and long-term value creation rather than short-term market narratives. Under his leadership, Ewing Morris has developed a reputation for going where others won’t: small and mid-cap equities, complex special situations, shareholder activism, niche real estate, and bespoke investment partnerships.
Beyond investing, Darcy spends much of his time thinking about leadership, incentives, culture, and decision-making under uncertainty, both in business and in life. He has served on numerous public and non-profit boards, including leadership roles with major cultural institutions, and is deeply involved in mentoring and community-building through peer networks.
Outside the office, Darcy is a former semi-professional hockey player, an active coach to his sons’ basketball teams, an avid offshore fisherman, and someone who takes curiosity seriously – about people, ideas, and how to live well while building something meaningful.
He believes great businesses, like great lives, are built by playing the long game and by doing the hard, often unglamorous work when no one is watching.
